From June 12 to 13, an expert panel from the German ASIIN accreditation agency conducted an on-site review for the engineering education certification of the Food Science and Engineering program at our university.

On the morning of June 12, the university held an opening meeting attended by President Xu Mei, who warmly welcomed the experts. She highlighted the university’s 33-year commitment to education and the distinctive development of the Food Science and Engineering program. Emphasizing its status as a key discipline, she noted its integration of industry-academia collaboration through the Industrial College platform and adoption of Germany’s "dual-system" model. President Xu expressed hopes that the accreditation process would further align the program with international standards and enhance talent development quality.

During the review, the panel held discussions with program leaders, faculty, students, industry partners, and alumni, and conducted on-site inspections of laboratories, libraries, and classrooms to evaluate program operations. At the feedback session on June 13, the experts acknowledged the university’s systematic efforts in teaching quality and international alignment, while offering recommendations on credit systems and practical skill development.

President Xu thanked the panel for their rigorous evaluation and guidance, pledging to implement their feedback to drive continuous improvement in teaching reforms. She also expressed aspirations to establish a long-term partnership with ASIIN, fostering an educational collaboration ecosystem to elevate talent cultivation to new heights.
