To thoroughly implement the province’s higher education pairing assistance initiative, further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in the field of food engineering, and comprehensively enhance the quality of education and scientific research innovation, a delegation of seven members from Northeast Agricultural University, led by Vice President Jiang Yujun and including Dean of the College of Food Science Li Liang, Deputy Deans Liu Qian and Xu Ning, visited our university on the morning of September 3 to discuss matters related to the pairing assistance collaboration. Our university’s President Xu Mei warmly received the delegation led by Jiang Yujun.

Vice Presidents Cheng Yanjiang and Xu Jiancheng, along with the leadership of the College of Food Engineering and the heads of relevant academic departments, jointly participated in the exchange activities. The discussion was held in Conference Room 833 of the Main Building.

Cheng Yanjiang, on behalf of the university, expressed sincere gratitude for the long-term support from Northeast Agricultural University. He emphasized that openness and exchange are essential trends for the high-quality development of higher education. Cheng expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity for both institutions to deepen their collaboration, focusing on three core areas: the development of food science disciplines, joint scientific research initiatives, and the cultivation of high-quality talent. He envisioned creating a new pattern of development characterized by complementary strengths and collaborative innovation. Additionally, he expressed a desire for both sides to achieve mutual empowerment through resource sharing, ensuring that the partnership yields even more fruitful outcomes in Northeast Agricultural University’s efforts to support the development of our university.

Jiang Yujun stated that this exchange is not only a valuable starting point for deepening cooperation between the two universities but should also serve as an important opportunity to establish a normalized and institutionalized linkage mechanism. In the future, Northeast Agricultural University will fully leverage its strengths in disciplines, faculty, and resources to wholeheartedly support the development and progress of Heilongjiang East University. We are willing to engage in more in-depth and practical cooperation with our university in areas such as joint scientific research initiatives, co-construction of high-quality courses, cultivation of key faculty, and sharing of teaching resources. Together, we aim to build a sustainable and high-quality inter-university partnership, steadily advancing toward the long-term goal of mutual benefit, win-win outcomes, and collaborative development.

During the exchange, Xu Jiancheng noted that the food engineering program at our university shares a profound and close connection with that of Northeast Agricultural University, having long benefited from its meticulous guidance and strong support. He expressed hope that this targeted partnership would serve as a bridge to establish a long-term, stable collaborative mechanism between the two institutions, jointly contributing to talent cultivation and industrial development in the field of food engineering within our province.

At the symposium, representatives from both universities engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics, including the development plan for the food science discipline, optimization of the talent cultivation system, co-construction and sharing of curriculum resources, and joint research project initiatives.

Li Liang stated that the College of Food Science at Northeast Agricultural University will provide comprehensive cooperation and support for this partnership. Emphasizing a "one plus one greater than two" collaborative outcome, the college is committed to making every effort to ensure the effective implementation of all cooperative initiatives. Together, both institutions aim to write a new chapter of inter-university synergistic development and mutually beneficial cooperation.
